ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My name is Lara. I’m 25 years old, and I’ve been fascinated by classic film since the age of 3, when my grandmother showed me “Lili” for the first time. I subsequently forced my poor parents to rent it for me every time we went to the video store, and I think they were desperate to broaden my horizons. They succeeded in doing so the next year with “Meet Me in St. Louis,” which spurred a lifelong love affair with my beloved Judy Garland and 4 trips to the Judy Garland Festival in Grand Rapids, MN. At the age of 13, I won the festival’s trivia contest and was interviewed for NPR, which gave me the impression, as a 13-year-old 7th grader, of having some sense of status. My math scores begged to disagree.
Since that time, I have broadened my horizons even further to become a devoted lover of all classic film. This site is a work of love for all those movies that have given me some of the happiest hours of my life. Thanks for visiting!

I just found your blog, and I must say it’s really nice. Like you, I’m hooked on classic Hollywood. Gregory Peck was my first crush.
I also enjoyed reading your “About the Author.” A 13-year-old Judy Garland expert. That’s pretty funny…and cool.
