Hi! My name is Lara Fowler, and I am your author here at Backlots. I started Backlots in the early spring of 2011, after realizing that my passion and knowledge relating to classic film needed a serious outlet. I won the 2011 CiMBA Award for Best Classic Movie Discussion for my post on The Heiress, and have been nominated for several more. I have also served as an official member of the press for the TCM Classic Film Festival, the San Francisco Silent Film Festival, Silent Winter, Noir City, Noir City X-Mas, and Cinecon. In August, I had the great pleasure of interviewing the legendary Joan Fontaine for the blog, an interview that is scheduled to appear on Joan Fontaine’s birthday on October 22. I have also interviewed several authors and have had the good fortune to meet many classic film luminaries. Needless to say, I am thrilled with what Backlots has become.
