CiMBA Award #2!

Hello, dear readers!

2014PROFILE

We have just finished the voting period for the CiMBA Awards, the annual blogging award given out by the Classic Movie Blog Association ,and I am proud to say that for my interview with Joan Fontaine, conducted in September of last year, Backlots has received the award in the category of Best Profile of a Classic Movie Performer or Filmmaker.

This is Backlots’ second time receiving a CiMBA Award. The first was in 2011 for “The Final Scene of The Heiress,” and as both my awards have come from articles relating to the sisters de Havilland, I’m beginning to think that this family is good luck. Thank you to the CMBA for this honor. I am thrilled and privileged to have the recognition of such an esteemed group of bloggers.

Joan Fontaine passed away at the age of 96 shortly after she answered my questions for this interview. I cherish the unique and precious opportunity to have been in touch with her, and I will remember her kindness and generosity always. I accept this award for Joan.
